The History of Early Medieval Clothing in Europe is a project which aim is to:
– describe, analyze and interpret archeological and historical sources concerning this subject,
– attempt to characterize and reconstruct the garment, ornaments and everyday use objects
– gather information concerning the producers of historical garments and accessories
– promulgate and popularize the knowledge concerning this subject.
Within the project, we plan to conduct a series of lectures and workshops, as well as organize exhibitions and issue publications.
Currently we are working on a publication concerning Scandinavian attire from the Viking period.
